Rio Veradonir and the Path to Universal Truth | Ashland Daily Tidings, Revels |
Dec. 2, 2010 Southern Oregon University student Rio Veradonir is holding a private test screening of his feature film Spin of Fabrications on Sunday, December 19th, at the Meese Auditorium on the Ashland SOU campus. Rio wrote his movie script as a philosophy student at SOU, under the tutelage of Professor Dr. Prakash Chenjeri. Spin of Fabrications is a full-length film about a young woman who goes horseback riding, falls asleep in a field, and meets four fantasy figures in her dreams. The lead actress of the film is Ashland local Sophia Palosaari, who as a child attended both the local Waldorf School and St. Mary's School in Medford. The leading man is Shawn Beasley, a recent graduate of SOU's Theatre Arts program. Another Rogue Valley resident who acts in the film is Paul Michael Garcia, who was a member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and also a graduate of SOU's Theatre Department. The cast includes Jobeth Wagner, who grew up in Mount Shasta, California. After performing in Spin of Fabrications, Jobeth moved to Los Angeles where she has since succeeded at developing a professional acting career, having appeared in several television shows and feature films. What started as a small student film grew, over the last few years, into a considerably larger project, as Hollywood professionals joined the crew. For example, the film's medieval battle scene was choreographed by Jeff Richardson (Westender, The Quest) and Athony DeLongis (Indiana Jones, Second Hand Lions, Batman Returns, Jet Li's Fearless). After the screenings, viewers will be given the opportunity to meet the director and actors involved in producing the film, most of whom are residents of Ashland. Rio plans to enter his film in at least 150 film festivals around the world in 2011. |
